Tech Lookup

Find websites by the technology they run.

How do I search for websites in a specific country?

While TLDs (like .fr) are helpful, many global companies use .com. StackScan allows you to filter by Server Location or Business Headquarters.

  • The Benefit: You can search for "Shopify stores" specifically located in the United States or India, regardless of whether they use a .com or a local TLD.

Refining Technology Results in Tech Lookup

The Tech Lookup tool is designed to provide high-level market intelligence and deep-dive filtering. When you first perform a search, the system provides a broad overview of the technology's footprint before you move into detailed data extraction.

Step 1: The Initial Search and Technology Glance

Once you search for a technology, the system generates a Technology Glance. At this stage, you will see a summary of the global landscape rather than a full list of specific domains. This includes:

  • Total Websites Detected: The total number of domains currently identified as using that specific technology (e.g., 527,285 websites).
  • Market Coverage: A breakdown of where the technology is most prevalent, such as the Top 5 Countries and their percentage of total coverage.
  • Sample Websites: A preview of high-authority or official sites utilizing the stack to give you an immediate sense of the technology's typical user base.

Step 2: Accessing the Refine Report

To move beyond the general overview and access specific domain data, navigate to the Refine Report section. This is where you can filter the millions of detected sites into a targeted data set by layering multiple criteria:

  • Geography and TLD: Filter your results to include or exclude specific countries or Top-Level Domains (TLDs). For example, you can target only .co.uk domains or exclude all domains from a specific region.
  • Technology Combinations: This powerful filter allows you to see results for websites that use a specific combination of tools. You can search for sites that use your primary technology AND another specific software, or ensure you are only seeing sites that EXCLUDE a competitor's product.

Step 3: Apply Filters and Download

Once you have configured your parameters, click Apply Filters. The system will process your specific requirements and update the results. When you are satisfied with the refined selection, you can proceed to download the full data set in a clean, organized format.
