How do I build a lead list using Keyword Search?
Building a high-intent prospect list follows a simple three-step workflow:
- Search: Enter a keyword, topic, or niche (e.g., "Sustainable Fashion" or "SaaS Marketing").
- Refine: Use filters to narrow down the results by geography or tech stack and sort them by Relevance or Popularity.
- Export: Download your filtered results as a CSV lead list ready for your outreach or SEO tools.
How Keyword Scan Tool Works?
While Tech Lookup finds websites based on the software they use (e.g., "Show me all Shopify sites"), Keyword Search finds websites based on their actual content, niche, and intent. It allows you to surface prospects based on what they publish and talk about, rather than just what tools they use.
Step 1: Enter a Keyword
Start by entering a keyword, topic, niche, or search intent into the search bar (e.g., "AI tools", "fitness blogs", "B2B SaaS"). Click the Search button to discover websites whose content closely matches your input.
Keyword Strategy Insight
- Long-tail keywords (more specific phrases) typically return fewer but highly targeted results.
- Short or popular keywords usually return a larger volume of broader results.
Using a mix of both helps balance discovery and precision.
Step 2: Apply Advanced Filters
Refine your results using built-in filtering options to narrow down high-quality matches:
- Popularity Rank - Identify websites based on their relative traffic and visibility.
- Country - Filter results by geographic location to target specific markets.
- Technology - Narrow results based on technologies used by the websites.
- Relevance Score (10-100) - Control how closely results match your keyword.
- Use Min Relevance Score to set a threshold.
- Higher scores indicate stronger keyword alignment and intent match but fewer results.
After configuring filters, click Apply Filters to update your results.
Step 3: Download Dataset
After refining your results, you can export the dataset using the Download option.
- Each dataset download consumes 1 credit.
- The exported list is structured and ready for use for whatever purpose you need them for.
- You can perform unlimited searches and filtering before deciding to download.
- You're not allowed to rebuild reports like Tech Lookup for Keyword Scan tool.
- Searching for "same" keyword will consume credit each time you download the list.
What You Can Achieve (Use Cases)
- Discover websites based on content, intent, and niche alignment
- Build high-intent prospect lists for outreach
- Segment markets by relevance, popularity, geography, and technology
- Use long-tail keywords to uncover highly specific, lower-volume but better-targeted opportunities
- Use broad or popular keywords to access larger datasets for wider market discovery
Understanding the My Search Table (Keyword Scan)
The My Search section provides a complete history of your keyword searches along with their results, status, and credit usage. It allows you to quickly revisit past searches, monitor dataset readiness, and download results without repeating the process.
Column Breakdown
Keyword
The exact keyword, topic, or phrase used for the search. This reflects the input you entered to generate results.
Countries
Displays the geographic filter applied during the search.
- If no country filter is selected, it will show "All Countries".
- If filters are applied, only results from selected countries are included.
Results Found
The total number of websites identified for that keyword based on your filters. Higher numbers typically indicate broader keywords, while lower numbers suggest more niche or specific searches.
Search Date
The exact date and time when the search was performed. This helps track recency and organize workflows.
Credit Used
Indicates whether a credit was consumed for that dataset.
- 1.00 - A credit was used (typically when the dataset is downloaded).
- 0.00 / Not Used - No credit consumed (e.g., search performed but not downloaded, or already unlocked dataset).
Status
Shows the current state of the search result:
- Ready - The dataset is prepared and available for download (usually instant)
Download
Once the status shows Ready, you can download the dataset directly from this section.
Example Explained
- Keyword: TV - Broad keyword
- Countries: All Countries - No geographic filter applied
- Results Found: 280,230 - Large dataset due to broad keyword
- Search Date: Apr 15, 2026 06:01:38 - When the search was performed
- Credit Used: 1.00 - Credit consumed during download
- Status: Ready - Dataset available instantly
- Action: Download - Export dataset
Key Notes
- Searches themselves do not consume credits - only downloads do.
- You can revisit and download previously generated searches anytime (subject to credit rules).
- The table provides a centralized view to manage, track, and reuse your keyword-based datasets efficiently.
Download Behavior
When you click the Download button in the Keyword Scan tool, you are automatically redirected to the report page where the dataset is prepared for export.
- If the report is ready, the download will be available immediately.
- If the report is not yet ready, allow a few seconds for processing and refresh the page to access the download.
In most cases, reports are generated instantly, but slight delays can occur depending on dataset size or system load.
